Chronicles of a Broke Girl — Episode Two
“Trying Not to Stay Broke”
Hello, Hello — and Welcome Back to Fickle!
So, how did my first day go?
Honestly — it was exciting.
And don’t worry, I’ll be posting my OOTDs every day because, well… it’s my blog, and I can do whatever I want here. 😌
First Day at the Fashion Institute
You know, I cut my bangs around 1.5 months ago, and today I finally styled them — and oh my God, they looked so good. I literally kept them like that the whole day, just admiring them. So yes, tomorrow’s post will definitely include that look.
Since I’m working as a content creator, I spent the day creating a reel — and guess what? It’s already getting good reach! I also made some stories, introduced everything my way, and the best part?
There was no micromanaging.
No one hovering, no “do this, do that.”
They just said: “This is your job, do it. Get the scripts approved, create the content, and let us know when you’re done.”
That’s it.
And honestly, it felt so freeing.
Peaceful Lunch & The Walk Home
Lunch was peaceful, the weather was perfect, and the whole day just flowed.
My father dropped me off in the morning, but I walked home in the evening — and tomorrow I’m going to walk both ways.
It’s just a seven-minute walk!
Can you believe that? I left at 5:07 and reached home at 5:15. That’s how close it is.
It’s perfect — peaceful, healthy, and kind of symbolic too, you know? Like, walking my own path.
New Friend (With Boundaries)
I made a friend today — she’s my supervisor as well. She’s nice, kind, and easy to talk to. But here’s the thing: I don’t think colleagues should be close friends.
I believe in boundaries.
I’ll respect hers, and she’ll respect mine.
That’s how I plan to keep it — chill, professional, and balanced.
The Cookie Obsession 🍪
Okay, now let’s talk about something really important — cookies.
I found this amazing cookie dough recipe on YouTube Shorts, and I had to share it with you because it’s honestly the quickest and yummiest one I’ve ever made.
🍪 My Quick Cookie Dough Recipe
Ingredients:
½ cup unsalted butter (basically one stick — I use salted butter)
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
1 egg (room temperature)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt (skip this if you’re using salted butter)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Cream together the butter and both sugars.
Add the egg and vanilla; mix well.
Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Chill the dough (or bake immediately at 350°F for 10–12 minutes).
This recipe makes the most amazing cookies ever.
I still have some dough frozen, and I’m going to eat it tonight — before bed. (Yes, straight from the microwave, don’t judge 😋)
The Routine Begins
Today I woke up at 8 a.m., and right now I’m sleepy but trying to hold on until 11 or 11:30 p.m.
Why? Because I want to keep a routine.
I had three meals today, but I’m craving that cookie again — so I’ll have one, then take a 20-minute walk so it digests before bed. Small things, but they make me feel human again.
Chronicles of a Broke Girl — The Name
So here’s the thing — I think I’m going to call this series:
“Chronicles of a Broke Girl Who’s Trying Not to Stay Broke.”
What do you think?
Let me know in the comments — I’m still deciding if I should stick with this or come up with something else.
What’s Coming Next
If you want me to share things like my skincare, my vitamin routine, or even more Brown girl hacks, I’ll tell you everything — HONESTLY.
Because this isn’t that kind of space.
This is where I talk, rant, and share life as it happens.
So stay tuned — tomorrow I’ll tell you what I wear, what I feel, and probably what I eat too.
Thanks for binge-watching (or binge-reading) another chapter of my life —
and welcome again to Fickle.
